Education

Mosinee UMC strongly supports children, youth, and adults with a variety of education programs designed to strengthen faith and build biblical knowledge for all ages.

Sunday School (All AGES)

The last day of Sunday School for the 2016-2017 year is May 21, 2017.  The Sunday School will be participating in the worship service, and attendance awards will be given out.  Please join us!

During the school year (September-May) our Sunday School meets 10:00-11:00am Sunday mornings.

Hands-on Sunday schoolChildren’s classes are offered for preschool-kindergarten, grades 1-3, grades 4-6, and youth. Our Sunday School program is hands-on and involves music, crafts,  missions, and other ways to explore God’s Kingdom.

Adult classes meet at the same time and include one option for study of the bible as it relates to the lectionary, and one that is a video-based discussion.

During the summer (June-August), the adult classes meet at 10:00 am. The children have the summer off.

Methodist Youth Fellowship

Empty Bowls youth groupFor youth in middle and high school, the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF)  meets on Wednesdays during the school year, 6:00-7:30pm.

Confirmation (YOUTH)

Youth who are ready to make their profession of faith and claim their baptismal vows for themselves are encouraged to participate in confirmation. This is an exploration of faith and what it means to be a member of Christ’s church. Each confirmand is guided by a personal mentor. Confirmands are also encouraged to participate in one or more retreats.

Interested people should contact the pastor (715-693-2125 or pastor@mosineeumc.org) for more information.

Although less common, adults who would like to participate in our confirmation program and profess their own baptismal faith are welcome.

BIBLE STUDY (Adults)

We have a regular Bible study that meets at 9:00am Wednesday mornings in the church library.  This group is open to all in the community and discusses a chapter each week.

Other Bible studies for adults and older teens are offered periodically on special topics. Watch our calendar or Facebook page for announcements and opportunities.

New Member Classes (Adults, Families)

People interested in joining Mosinee UMC are welcome at any time. Members affirm their Christian faith in the Apostles’ Creed, renounce sin, pledge their devotion to Jesus Christ, and vow to support the church with their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.

Because this is a serious commitment, we encourage prospective members to attend church for a while before joining. The pastor offers new member classes to discuss the essentials of Christian faith, the history and unique emphases of The United Methodist Church, and the specific obligations and commitments of members. When you are ready to join Mosinee UMC, or if you have questions, please contact the pastor (715-693-2125 or pastor@mosineeumc.org).
