“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

June and July were tough months at Mosinee UMC. We lost four beloved brothers and sisters – Denny Krusick, Verna Justesen, Darlene Acree, and Nancy Krzanowski.

Yet they were good months as well, showing off the best of our church. We’ve had weddings and baptisms, an ordination, a car show, Bike Break, and Vacation Bible School.

There’s a great song, “The church is not a building, the church is not a steeple, the church is not a resting place, the church is a people.” (558 in the big red hymnal. Check it out!)

Our church is our people. We have a building, of course, and we make very good use of it to worship God and serve others. We are a resting place, too, where folks can come to get spiritually recharged, or to find peace in times of trouble. But most of all, we are a people – called to seek, save, serve, and send people for Jesus Christ.

In June and July we have seen the people of Mosinee UMC come together to care for each other in good times and bad. And we have reached out into our community, showing compassion for folks in need.

Whether you help us pay the bills, or tend the yard, or fix the building, or visit the sick, or tend to the poor, or feed the hungry, or teach the children, or welcome the stranger, or comfort families who have lost loved ones… yes, you have served Jesus. Yes, we’re the church together. Yes, God is at work here in Mosinee United Methodist Church.
