psalm

“In your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are.” (Nehemiah 9:31)
I’m so proud to be a member of this church! I see God in each of you. Jesus walks among you as you share your hearts with each other and those in pain.
How many times has it been said about people in this church, “They have God in their hearts.”?
The church family has been hit hard this year by several unexpected deaths. These seem to be more difficult as there was no time to prepare.
Last month we heard Jim Lewis stand up in both services and thank all of you for your heart-felt love for his family.
In Psalm 75:3 God says, “When the earthquakes and its people are in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundation firm.”
Because I usually start the telephone prayer chain, many people come to me for answers. Usually I don’t have them.
Psalm 71:18,”Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.”
I know that most of you are in prayer for those who need it.
When we are in a crisis situation, we must remember that God doesn’t do bad things to good people. It is just the way of the world. God is Love! God sends love to us through his children by way of a kind word or deed. When we receive a hug from someone filled with God’s Spirit, it is a hug from God. What a “win-win” for those giving as well as those receiving that hug or sentiment.
Isn’t it a beautiful thing to know Jesus walks with us as we spread his Father’s love?! I have been a receiver of this love and many of you are givers of God’s love.
Whether you are a giver, recipient or both of God’s love through prayer, it is so important in our lives. So many times I’ve seen how prayer works. The church’s Prayer File is filling up fast. You can check it out in the Prayer Chapel.
Our Prayer Team feels so very strongly about prayer, that we changed our prayer time to 7:30pm on Wednesdays, after the Wednesday night worship service.
We invite you to join the Wednesday worship service and hope you will stay after the service to continue in prayer for those needing healing, comfort or wisdom.
Ephesians 1:16,” I have never stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.”
