Give Thanks
“When I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me the strength I need.” (Psalm 138:3)
We have just completed our 8th year of retreats and we feel this one was our best! Our theme was, “Come Join Us on the Journey,” and I personally would tell you it was our most rewarding. Why, you ask? My answer is because I felt God was so included in everything that happened!
There were several “forks” in our journey and God was always there to make the journey all he wanted it to be. He made each one of our Retreat Team look “goooood!”
Each year God walks closer and closer to us and I really hope he lets us get up and closer before each retreat so each year we can say again, ‘Best retreat ever!’
This being the time of Thanksgiving, I thank him for showing me the path of prayer when the road blocks come before me. I thank God for reaching out and sending those who have never been to our retreat before. This includes the leadership of those from Cornerstone Church. There were “ripples” that came from the new people that have spread through our community.
I would like to recognize those ladies that worked so hard to make the retreat all that it was.
Jan Krusick plans and coordinates all the food that goes in our mouths and she couldn’t even be here the day of the retreat. This was one of our “forks,” so Jan and God recruited Kandi, Jan’s daughter to fill in and Jan coached her well! Kandi did a great job!
Gwen Borth planned all the decorations we had with the help of all the ladies. Linda Maki took over the registration table with help from Debi Hallas and Karen McKenna.
Julie Rhyner was our PowerPoint lady and arranged for all the music. Carla Cisler backed her.
Irene Lewis and Sandy Lacy were helpers in all areas. Lynn Koslalek had to drop out due to a job conflict.
Each lady fixed a special dish for our lunch and we fed over forty people. It was delicious!
I especially want to thank Mike Strasburg, our photographer; Mary Testin and Donna Troseth of the office staff; our pastor, Park Hunter; and all those that entertained us at the retreat. This includes Jacque Maki, 3-4-1, Brenda Van Ouse, Michell Cline, Karen Frisinger, Millie Lilla, Geri Gorski and Ann Beste. God directed us to all of you!
I thank each of these people as does God and invite anyone new to our retreat to join us next year.
Because of your love for God, I ask you to join us on Monday nights at 6:30pm in the Prayer Chapel to give thanks in prayer for all God does for us and those on our prayer list. See you on Monday.

One More Thank You
There is one more person who worked very hard for the Women’s Retreat and deserves special thanks: Carol Anderson! Carol worked as the go-between for the planning committee to get brochures printed, flyers made and ensured things were organized. She created the poster in the lobby and assisted with mailings. The Women’s Retreat holds a special place in Carol’s heart and we want her to know her commitment is deeply appreciated.
